Background

Philip B. McManus, Ed.D.

Dr. Philip McManus is a accomplished and credentialed educational leader with over 20 years of progressive experience across diverse public and private school settings (PreK-12). Possessing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Boston College and holding multiple Administrator and Teaching Certifications, Dr. McManus offers educational consulting to schools and districts with focuses including principal mentoring, investigations, human resources, and professional development.

 

Dr. McManus also provides expert testimony in matters involving the educational welfare of children in divorce and custody disputes. Core expertise focuses on the alignment of parental decisions with a student's developmental, academic, and social-emotional needs including special education and 504 accommodations.

Dr. McManus is also the proud father of two middle school aged daughters. As a parent, he is keen on current youth trends and the support children need to succeed in schools. He is an avid skier who also enjoys boating, gardening, all things cars. He lives with his wife, Kara, and two daughters North of Boston.

Serve as principal for 600 student middle school managing all aspects of daily operations. Proven ability to manage complex school operations, ensuring compliance with state testing and special education law (IEP accommodations). Expert at leveraging academic, behavioral, and assessment data to guide instructional improvements and maximize student potential. Directed system-wide initiatives focused on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and maintained robust operational systems to support student safety, health, and social-emotional well-being.
